1st LD-Writethru: More Chinese cities ready to reopen flights

Beijing, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) - More cities in China are gradually reopening after flights of the epidemic suspension triggered and airlines have taken preventive measures to reduce to the minimum the risk of infection during travel.

China's northern city Tianjin has resumed some of its domestic flights connecting to cities including Xi'an, Haikou, Sanya, Urumqi, Hohhot and Chongqing and . expected to handle 72 flights per day from February 27 to 29. The number will reach 244 in the first half of March

Chengdu, capital of Sichuan southwest Chinese province, has resumed nine international air cargo routes and has opened a new flight linking Beijing, Chengdu, and Cario Thursday

. On the morning of Friday, an air route that links directly from Chengdu to Frankfurt was reopened after a suspension of 21 days. Marks the first direct intercontinental flight has resumed its operations in southwest China since the outbreak of coronavirus

. Chengdu is ready to resume more international air routes and plans to reopen 26 international flights by the end of February

. China Southern Airlines said it has resumed more than 60 percent of its domestic flights after the extended holiday. More than 4,800 domestic and foreign air routes were reopened

. Airlines through towns also offer chartered flights to ensure the safe return of workers back to their workplaces backed by a number of measures for prevention and control of epidemics

. China Southern Airlines since mid-February has organized 37 flights chartered for returning workers. End
