The coastal level of the China Sea will increase between 68 and 170 millimeters in the next 30 years, and the coastal regions face growing threats due to the increase in sea level, according to a bulletin of the Ministry of Natural Resources .

last year, the country saw its highest level of the coastal sea since 1980, which has been 84 mm higher than normal years. The coastal sea level increased at an average rate of 3.4 mm per year from 1980 to 2021, more than the global average during the same period, according to the bulletin. Risks of the ascending level of the sea, said the bulletin.

The accelerated increase in the level of the coastal mar is due in large part to global warming, which has led to the expansion of seawater and the melting of glaciers and polar ice covers.

The sea level level magnifies the impact of marine disasters. Last year, the storms storms from China and floods in coastal regions occurred mainly between July and October, since this period saw a higher level of the sea.

The report required more efforts to prevent marine disasters and mitigate the impacts of the sea level.

According to an evaluation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Global Sea level could increase by 2 meters in 2100 and in 5 meters in 2150 under a worse scenario.
